Software Engineer – Accounting Integrations (LATAM)

About the role

TrashLab is building an operating system for waste haulers and needs a backend engineer to own the billing, payments and accounting integration layer. You will design and maintain two‑way syncs, webhook processing and OAuth flows that keep financial data in sync with platforms such as QuickBooks.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations between TrashLab and accounting platforms (QuickBooks and others).
• Design REST APIs for invoice, payment and billing workflows.
• Implement data‑sync logic, including two‑way syncs, conflict resolution and event‑driven processing.
• Write clean, maintainable backend code in Node.js or Python.
• Collaborate directly with the founders to shape product requirements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience delivering accounting integrations in production.
• Deep knowledge of QuickBooks API or comparable platforms (Xero, NetSuite, FreshBooks).
• Strong backend fundamentals: REST APIs, data modeling and asynchronous processing.
• Proficiency in Node.js, Python or a similar backend stack.
• Experience with OAuth flows, webhooks and third‑party API integrations.
• Fluent written English and based in LATAM with meaningful US timezone overlap.
