Senior Grants Specialist

About the role

ICON Strategic Solutions is hiring a Senior Grants Specialist in Buenos Aires. Working in a sponsor-dedicated model, the role oversees grant processes, ensures compliance and provides expert guidance to support grant administration and strategic funding initiatives. The position sits within a sponsor-dedicated model supported by ICON's global expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead proposal development tasks with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Manage and oversee the full grant lifecycle, including proposal review, award management, compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Evaluate grant proposals, budgets and performance to align with organizational goals and funding requirements.
• Ensure adherence to grant regulations, donor requirements and internal policies, and implement best practices in grant management.
• Prepare and present reports on grant performance, financial status and compliance, with recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with finance, program managers and external partners to optimise grant-related activities.
• Stay informed on industry trends, funding opportunities and regulatory changes.
• Mentor junior staff and lead efforts to improve grant management processes within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in grants management and administration, with a proven track record of managing complex grant processes and ensuring compliance.
• Deep understanding of grant regulations, donor requirements and best practices in grant management.
• Ability to work independently and guide others.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating proposals, assessing budgets and giving strategic recommendations.
• Proficiency in grants management software and financial reporting tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
