Senior General Accountant

About the role

The Senior General Accountant leads the general ledger close process and ensures the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all financial and statutory reporting. This role works closely with the HQ Finance team and other internal stakeholders to maintain high‑quality accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and close outputs.
• Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports and statutory financial statements for tax and regulatory authorities.
• Manage tax compliance across indirect, withholding and local taxes, acting as the primary contact for tax reporting, audits and inspections.
• Lead testing and validation of system enhancements to ensure data integrity and process improvements.
• Maintain, develop and improve accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Mentor junior colleagues and coordinate team activities to meet deadlines.
• Support financial audits and act as backup for other accounting tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
• Professional certification such as CPA, dipIFR or ACCA is highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Big 4, multinational or complex organizational environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
