Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Indio builds AI and large‑scale data products for the energy industry. As a Senior Data Scientist you will tackle open‑ended modelling problems on messy, real‑world data and deliver models that directly influence high‑value business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end modelling projects: problem framing, data preparation, method selection, evaluation and production deployment.
• Design and maintain datasets, labelling guidelines and evaluation suites that evolve with changing data.
• Integrate and harden LLM and agentic pipelines, ensuring they meet standards for cost, latency, guardrails and explainability.
• Collaborate with engineers to write production‑grade Python code, keep it reproducible, tested and well documented.
• Communicate results, uncertainty and risk clearly to leadership, analysts and engineers.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning with multiple models shipped to production.
• Demonstrated measurable impact (e.g., error‑rate reduction, forecast improvement, automation of manual work).
• Hands‑on experience with forecasting or time‑series modelling on noisy real‑world data, including back‑testing and calibrated uncertainty.
• Experience deploying LLM or agentic systems in production and improving their quality.
• Strong statistical reasoning and ability to explain noise versus signal.
