Senior Data Engineer - Tax Technology

About the role

EY's Global Delivery Services (GDS) Tax Technology team develops, implements and integrates technology solutions for its clients and engagement teams. It works with partners, clients and tax technical experts to build tools that improve efficiency and add value to tax services. EY is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its Tax Technology practice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimize data-layer components such as databases, stored procedures, ETL packages and SQL queries
• Work with application developers from core systems to address changes and their impact on SQL databases
• Define data solutions for business problems by working with project managers, seniors and clients
• Communicate with senior IT leaders on program strategy and plans and negotiate quality solutions

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Fabric
• 4+ years of experience with SQL Server, including database design, data modelling and SSIS
• ETL experience, including Azure Data Factory or SSIS
• Experience with Power BI and Analysis Services
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and strong communication skills

Required skills

• SQL Server, Azure SQL, complex queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, cursors, UDFs
• Data modelling and data warehouse concepts
• Azure Data Factory, SSIS, CI/CD with Git and deployment pipelines
• Lakehouse and warehouse experience
• Python, PySpark or Spark SQL
• Nice to have: multi-tenant architecture, concurrent processing, agentic coding and agent building
