Senior Accounting Specialist – Finance Operations

About the role

This senior accounting position is part of EY GDS Finance Operations, supporting a US‑based client from our Buenos Aires hub. The role leads day‑to‑day bookkeeping, close activities and stakeholder communication while ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery of financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate daily accounting tasks performed by the Buenos Aires team, reporting to the Finance Manager.
• Lead monthly bookkeeping processes including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review manual journal entries, monthly flash reports, financial result summaries and CFO deep‑dive inputs.
• Execute bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles, ensuring adherence to deadlines and internal controls.
• Analyse balance‑sheet accounts, identify unusual fluctuations and support variance analysis.
• Coach junior team members, provide technical guidance and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Collaborate with GDS India and ACR US on‑shore teams to maintain consistent service delivery.
• Support ERP migration projects, including testing, validation and documentation.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in bookkeeping or senior accounting roles.
• Strong ownership of close processes, reconciliations and issue resolution.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams, drive process improvements and manage transitions.
