Senior Accounting Reviewer

About the role

We are a growing U.S.-based accounting firm seeking a Senior Accounting Reviewer to oversee and improve the bookkeeping work produced by junior staff. The role focuses on critical analysis, error correction, and mentorship rather than routine data entry.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify bookkeeping entries prepared by junior bookkeepers.
• Check reconciliations for bank, credit‑card, loan, payroll and merchant accounts.
• Identify and correct accounting errors, misclassifications and adjust journal entries.
• Handle complex clean‑up tasks and month‑end close activities.
• Provide guidance on accounting logic, QBO workflows and answer technical questions.
• Communicate with clients when additional information or clarification is required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Background in a U.S. accounting or bookkeeping firm.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and ability to explain adjustments.
• Proven experience reviewing and correcting others’ work, especially with incomplete or messy books.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
