Senior Accounting Analyst

About the role

The Senior Accounting Analyst will lead month‑end close activities, ensure compliance with US GAAP and Argentine standards, and support statutory reporting for General Motors in Argentina.

Key responsibilities

• Perform General Ledger, journal entry preparation, accruals, reclassifications, account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Prepare statutory trial balances, US GAAP‑to‑Local GAAP adjustments, inflation accounting calculations and complete financial statements with notes.
• Convert financial information to USD functional currency and analyze foreign‑exchange impacts.
• Coordinate external audit requirements, execute SOX‑related controls and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Partner with finance, shared service centers and regional teams to resolve accounting issues and drive process automation.

Required profile

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong knowledge of Argentine Professional Accounting Standards.
• 3‑4 years of experience in general accounting, month‑end close, statutory reporting and external audit preparation.
• Experience with inflation accounting adjustments and conversion of statements to USD.
• Intermediate or higher English proficiency and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI) knowledge.
• Advanced Excel, Power Query, Power BI (or KNIME) for data analysis and automation.
• Understanding of US GAAP and its reconciliation with Argentine standards.
• Experience in Big Four audit environments (preferred).
