Senior Accountant – Vacation Rental Portfolio (Remote)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in vacation‑rental accounting. The role is fully remote and focuses on onboarding new clients, optimizing accounting workflows, and delivering accurate financial reporting for short‑term rental businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding, setting up accounting systems and ensuring data accuracy.
• Customize and streamline accounting workflows for each vacation‑rental client.
• Prepare, review, and close month‑end financial statements and reconciliations.
• Work with vacation‑rental platforms such as PMS, channel managers, and trust‑accounting systems.
• Maintain compliance with industry‑specific accounting standards.
• Identify process improvements and implement scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance efficiency and client experience.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for vacation‑rental accounting matters.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in the vacation‑rental sector.
• Proven experience with trust accounting, owner statements, and property‑level reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to onboard new clients and configure accounting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently.
