Senior Accountant

About the role

Finvisor is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its Accounting Manager and Controller team. The role involves day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of 15 mid‑ to large‑sized startup clients, working closely with C‑level executives and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement rigorous accounting processes and internal controls.
• Perform general ledger functions including revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, investments, accrued liabilities, inventory, depreciation, equity, and interest.
• Review monthly client closes and manage the full accounting cycle for assigned clients.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash‑flow management, and financial reporting.
• Develop GAAP‑compliant accounting policies, revenue‑recognition methods, and audit support documentation.
• Identify inefficiencies, propose cost‑saving measures, and ensure timely tax filings.

Required profile

• Current CPA designation or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (IFRS a plus) and experience preparing audited financial statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct (any)
• Payroll systems such as Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Rippling, QBO, Intuit (optional)
• Google Docs, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel (intermediate/advanced)
