About the role
Trafigura is looking for a Retail IT Business Partner for its office in Buenos Aires. You will act as the primary local IT point of contact for Retail in Argentina, connecting business stakeholders, station operations, local vendors and Regional/Global IT teams. You translate local needs into clear IT requirements and actions, with disciplined follow-up and visibility on priorities, risks and progress. The role is hands-on and field-oriented, with regular visits to operational sites.
Key responsibilities
- Work with business users and station operators to understand processes and pain points, turning them into functional requirements for Regional IT and vendors
- Facilitate meetings and workshops, keep stakeholders informed and build functional knowledge of the local Retail IT application landscape, including user training
- Coordinate local workstreams for projects, enhancements and change requests, following Regional PMO practices, and track vendor commitments, SLAs and deliverables
- Support scope definition and prioritization of new initiatives, escalating blockers and driving ownership across teams
- Visit sites to support issue analysis, pilots, testing and change validation, and take part in UAT, pilots and post-implementation validation
- Support go-live preparation and stabilization, and identify improvement opportunities from operational trends
- Act as the local escalation point for incidents, supporting incident, change and problem management per Puma IT policies and monitoring service quality
- Maintain an updated view of local IT solutions and dependencies, reporting risks and trends to the Regional Retail IT team
Required profile
- University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
- 5+ years in IT roles combining business/application analysis, IT operations, service delivery or project coordination, ideally across multiple physical sites
- Experience gathering requirements, coordinating vendors and technical teams, and taking part in implementations, UAT or production stabilization
- Preferred: experience in Retail, Energy, Oil & Gas, logistics or other multi-site operations, and exposure to POS, site systems, loyalty or fleet platforms
- Proficiency in English
- Own vehicle for regular visits to nearby stations (travel expenses covered for farther, scheduled visits)
Required skills
- Working knowledge of ITSM concepts (Incident, Change, Problem Management); ITIL certification a plus
- Strong communication, organization and follow-up discipline, with the ability to escalate clearly and manage stakeholders without direct authority
- Hands-on, field-oriented mindset and autonomy in local coordination while collaborating with remote teams
