Resident Engineer – Device Management Operations

About the role

Friendly Technologies seeks a senior, hands‑on Resident Engineer to take end‑to‑end operational ownership of its large‑scale SaaS ACS platform. You will manage device lifecycle, ensure high availability, and act as the technical interface for major customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily platform administration, CPE onboarding, provisioning policies, firmware and mass operations, monitoring, incident management and SLA compliance.
• Lead incident triage, major incident coordination, and service restoration while preparing operational, SLA and campaign reports.
• Prepare, review and execute production changes with risk assessment, rollback plans and validation.

Required profile

• Native‑level English communication skills.
• Proactive, accountable, methodical and able to work under pressure in a large‑scale production environment.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset across multiple technical layers.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ACS platforms and TR‑069/CWMP device management.
• Advanced knowledge of TR‑098, TR‑181 data models and optional USP (TR‑369) concepts.
• Linux administration, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, routing, NAT, firewall and load‑balancer expertise.
• Operational knowledge of MySQL (or similar) databases, including performance and replication.
• Proficiency with tcpdump, Wireshark and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
• Experience with Azure or other major cloud platforms and Java application servers is a plus.
