Remote Data Protection Officer – Privacy Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Data Protection Officer to lead privacy compliance for a global IT services and consulting client. The contractor will develop and maintain data protection policies, conduct audits, and serve as the primary contact for privacy matters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies aligned with global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other regulations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for data protection inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Provide privacy training and guidance to employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP preferred.
• Proven experience conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments and applying privacy‑by‑design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify compliance gaps.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Ability to design and implement privacy‑by‑design frameworks.
• Conducting privacy audits and risk assessments.
