Remote Backend Developer (Spark, Scala, PL/SQL)

About the role

Talan, an international consulting group focused on innovation and business transformation through technology, is looking for an experienced Backend Developer with strong Apache Spark and Scala expertise. You will develop and maintain backend solutions, working closely with the squad from user stories and coding through testing, UAT support and production validation. The position is full-time, permanent and 100% remote.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and implement user stories and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from development through testing and production validation.
• Develop and run unit and integration tests to ensure solution quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with other members of the Agile squad to deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
• Provide support during UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
• Support production validation and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues when required.
• Work according to Agile methodologies, taking part in team ceremonies and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience developing with Apache Spark and Scala.
• Solid experience with PL/SQL.
• Experience working with Control-M.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Good understanding of software development best practices, testing and production support.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
