R Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This is a remote, hourly contractor position leading quality assurance for R programming and data‑analysis projects that support AI training. You will oversee the consistency and accuracy of AI‑generated R code, statistical explanations, visualisations, and data‑wrangling workflows, providing precise written feedback and ensuring contributors follow established guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Spot‑check R programming and data‑analysis items for correctness and reproducibility.
• Review AI‑generated R code, statistical models, visualisations, and data‑wrangling steps against project rubrics.
• Identify issues such as incorrect statistical assumptions, invalid package usage, non‑reproducible code, data leakage, or misleading charts.
• Communicate R‑specific standards, project updates, and feedback to trainers and reviewers via Discord.
• Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
• Collaborate with remote teams using Google Sheets, Docs, GitHub, and project‑management dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Biology).
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and delivering clear feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience using R for data analysis, statistical modelling, teaching, or code review.
• Experience leading remote teams of trainers, analysts, or QA specialists is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric‑based review is a plus.

Required skills

• R programming (base R, tidyverse, data.table, Shiny, R Markdown/Quarto).
• Key packages: dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, readr, stringr, purrr, caret, tidymodels, lme4, survival.
• Version control with Git and collaboration on GitHub.
• Reproducible workflow tools and best practices.
• Proficiency with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and project‑management dashboards.
