Python Backend Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to help train and evaluate next‑generation AI systems by tackling real‑world engineering tasks. The role is fully remote and ideal for developers who can quickly understand unfamiliar codebases, communicate decisions clearly, and solve backend, full‑stack, systems, or infrastructure challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Work on diverse engineering problems across backend, full‑stack, infrastructure, and systems projects.
• Review, debug, improve, and document code in various technical environments.
• Design or evaluate solutions involving APIs, databases, services, integrations, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Identify trade‑offs related to scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience.
• Write clear technical explanations and rationale for chosen solutions.
• Collaborate with the client’s team on technical reviews, implementation decisions, and problem‑solving exercises.
• Adapt rapidly to new codebases, frameworks, and requirements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in at least one backend or full‑stack environment (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#.NET, C++, Go, Ruby, PHP).
• Proven ability to read and reason through unfamiliar code or technical specifications.
• Excellent written communication skills for explaining complex engineering decisions.
