Principal Product Designer

About the role

Deel is building an intelligent, orchestrated experience for global work. As a Principal Product Designer you will partner directly with the Chief Design Officer to shape frontier design initiatives that go beyond the current product roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Turn early, undefined vision into designed, prototyped, shippable experiences, starting with orchestration and intent‑to‑resolution design.
• Partner with product, engineering, and design leads across vertical teams to ensure coherence, scalability, and integration with existing surfaces.
• Rapidly design, prototype, and test novel interaction paradigms such as intent‑driven interfaces, agentic workflows, task‑prediction UX, and personalized adaptive experiences.
• Design experiences powered by segmentation and personalization infrastructure without owning the underlying data models.
• Innovate interaction patterns that inform future design‑system standards.
• Build alignment across product, engineering, and leadership through compelling design narratives and prototypes.

Required profile

• 10+ years of design experience, including 2+ years at a principal or staff level.
• Systems thinker with proven ability to design across product surfaces and organizational boundaries.
• Self‑directed and comfortable owning problems end‑to‑end from ambiguous brief to shipped experience.
• Thrives in ambiguous, moving‑brief environments and can adapt as the design frontier evolves.
• Exceptional communicator who builds alignment through design vision and narrative.
• Located in North America or LATAM with working hours overlapping Pacific time and some overlap with EMEA.

Required skills

• Advanced prototyping skills.
• Strong visual and interaction design sensibility.
• Hands‑on experience designing AI‑powered product experiences (agentic workflows, intent‑driven interfaces, generative UI, personalization systems).
• Experience designing for personalization using segmentation infrastructure.
