People Operations Specialist

About the role

Join Wand to run day‑to‑day People Operations for a fully remote, globally distributed team of 150 employees and contractors. You’ll own the operational side of the employee experience and drive end‑to‑end recruiting across more than 20 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Own Deel as the HRIS, maintaining worker records, org structure, and data integrity across employees, EOR, and contractors.
• Administer the broader people stack, including Gusto, Ashby, and Lattice.
• Run the full employee lifecycle: onboarding from offer to first day, and off‑boarding from notice to last day.
• Manage benefits and policies, ensuring they are up‑to‑date and enforced.
• Execute end‑to‑end recruitment for technical and non‑technical roles, handling sourcing, interviews, offers, and metrics.
• Design and run virtual and on‑site socials, team activities, and cultural channels for a remote workforce.
• Build recognition programs for anniversaries, milestones, and life events.
• Serve as the first point of contact for policy, benefits, and process questions.

Required profile

• 4+ years in People Operations at tech companies, including experience with fully remote, globally distributed startups.
• Hands‑on experience managing the employee lifecycle (recruiting, onboarding, off‑boarding).
• Familiarity with multiple worker types: employees, EOR, contractors.
• Strong written and verbal English and solid understanding of HR best practices.
• Judgment to know what to escalate versus handle directly.
