Middle Java Engineer

About the role

Avenga is looking for a Middle Java Backend Developer in Argentina to join a team focused on evolving core banking architecture and delivering resilient digital services. You will design, develop, and maintain microservices‑based applications while ensuring high standards of code quality and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions and RESTful APIs aligned with business needs.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve microservices‑based applications using Spring Boot.
• Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Ensure software quality through unit testing, code reviews, and performance optimization.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve production incidents.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 2+ years of proven experience in Java backend development (Java 8, Java 21 or higher).
• Solid hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Web, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and REST API design.
• Proficiency with Git (GitFlow, branching strategies) and Maven.
• Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with both relational and non‑relational databases.
