Mid-Level Data Engineer – Sports & Entertainment

About the role

The Data Engineer 2 will join a dynamic team focused on sports and entertainment data. You will design, build, and maintain modern data pipelines, combining cloud and on‑premise sources, transforming data with dbt, and orchestrating workflows end‑to‑end. The role offers ownership of projects from conception through delivery while supporting a hybrid architecture strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate data from multiple cloud and on‑premise systems based on business requirements.
• Translate requirements into ETL/ELT pipelines and build transformation workflows in dbt.
• Develop, schedule, and monitor pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.
• Implement dimensional data models and perform data cleansing, standardization, and loading into a centralized warehouse.
• Write and maintain Python code for ingestion and transformation processes.
• Apply testing, CI/CD, and documentation practices to ensure reliability and performance.
• Proactively identify data issues and respond to unexpected problems.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in data engineering with strong fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently and deliver data models with minimal supervision.
• Motivation to learn, contribute to team goals, and grow with the business.
