About the role

As a Microwave Tower Technician III you will install, maintain and operate a variety of telecommunications equipment, working safely at height on tower sites. You will join a team focused on delivering high‑quality service while expanding technology for the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic and microwave telecom equipment.
  • Climb towers and ladders of various heights and conduct erection of multiple tower types.
  • Offload material, manage inventory and prepare/clean job sites.
  • Install new carriers on new‑build and existing towers.
  • Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes and gin poles.
  • Assemble monopole, welded, knock‑down self‑support and guyed towers.
  • Install antennas (microwave parabolic, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM broadcast).
  • Install transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical waveguides.
  • Perform electrical site foundations, grounding and conduit work.
  • Mentor less‑experienced technicians and complete other assigned duties.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of tower experience.
  • Ability to read and follow printed instructions.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).
  • Possession of an NWSA certification is a plus.
  • Physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb and work up to 12 hours.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting company policy.

Required skills

  • Tower climbing and erection.
  • Antenna installation (microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM).
  • Transmission line installation (foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, elliptical waveguides).
  • Electrical grounding and conduit installation.
  • Use of helicopters, cranes and gin poles.
  • Monopole assembly, welding and knock‑down tower construction.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS and ANSI standards.
  • NWSA certification (preferred).
