Medical Science Liaison

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will act as a field‑based extension of Takeda’s Therapeutic Area Medical Strategy Group. The role focuses on building scientific exchange with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators and other healthcare stakeholders to support Takeda’s marketed and emerging product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize scientific exchange needs of KOLs, investigators and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain compliant, peer‑to‑peer relationships with healthcare professionals, academic leaders, payers and government organizations.
• Provide scientific liaison support for company‑sponsored research, investigator‑initiated studies and collaborative clinical projects.
• Facilitate one‑on‑one and group scientific interactions, ensuring timely and accurate updates in the medical customer relationship management system.
• Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries in accordance with defined timelines and quality standards.
• Support the design and implementation of scientific programs with external experts and Global Medical Affairs.
• Maintain personal expertise in relevant disease areas and stay current with MSL best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in scientific exchange and KOL relationship management within the pharmaceutical or medical affairs sector.
• Strong knowledge of disease areas relevant to Takeda’s portfolio and of compliance regulations governing scientific communication.
• Ability to work independently in the field, travel as required, and collaborate with global medical affairs teams.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex scientific data to diverse audiences.
