Medical Data Review Manager (Rheumatology)
IQVIA · Buenos Aires
Job description
About the role
IQVIA is looking for a Medical Data Review Manager specializing in rheumatology to join its team. This is a home-based position with a global scope, and certified rheumatologists are mandatory. The role reviews structured clinical patient data without direct access to medical charts to check medical plausibility, adherence to protocol and completeness of the patient information before it moves to the next level of review.
Key responsibilities
- Identify anomalies in patient-reported data and investigate them with the clinical site to confirm accuracy.
- Check inclusion and exclusion criteria so every patient meets the minimum acceptance level for the trial.
- Review investigation product dosing records to confirm adherence to protocol and spot missed or inaccurate doses.
- Review adverse events, concomitant medications and medical history, verifying implausible data and its impact on other patient-reported information such as lab results.
- Ensure end-of-treatment and end-of-study information is correctly documented, including the primary reason for stopping treatment or participation.
- Review laboratory results for completeness and protocol compliance, flagging values that may indicate an unreported safety concern.
- Interact with other medical reviewers to verify information, triage new data issues and follow up on prior action items.
- Attend kick-off, weekly team and client meetings as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in medicine, graduated and specialized in rheumatology (mandatory; only physicians considered).
- 5 years of related experience in clinical research, at research sites or in CRO/pharmaceutical companies; experience as Sub-Investigator or Principal Investigator is relevant.
- Advanced English with excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of clinical and medical data used in clinical trials.
- Background in medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent motivation, influence and coaching skills, ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities, strong customer focus and good working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
