Media Planning Manager

About the role

The Manager, Planning is a critical junior/mid-level role reporting directly to the Associate Director. Working closely with the onshore Manager, the role shares day-to-day responsibilities and strategic direction and acts as a marketing partner for clients. It requires a strong working knowledge of the media space, with traditional and digital media preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations by keeping focus on key client objectives and communicating resource needs to meet ongoing client goals
• Coordinate with creative agencies on creative assets and account needs
• Work with multi-channel teams to design integrated media plans across TV, CTV, video, social, programmatic and audio
• Evaluate timelines and manage daily deliverables
• Analyze competitive landscapes, pull reports with agency tools and compile insights
• Manage a large media budget and flowchart, drive channel selection and look ahead to new opportunities
• Communicate directly with clients on questions, concerns and media initiatives

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of total experience
• Relevant media planning and buying experience with a specific digital focus
• English proficiency for email and verbal client communication
• Experience on one large account and across multiple media disciplines (SEM, social, TV, OLV, OOH, radio)
• Experience with upper-funnel media awareness campaigns
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts plans when client objectives, priorities or budgets change

Required skills

• Ideally familiar with Media Ocean, DDS, Nielsen Ad Intel, Pathmatics, Media Tools, web analytics, ad servers and media research tools
• Hands-on experience with paid search, paid social, programmatic, native, video, CTV/OTT and traditional media (TV, print, OOH)
• Strong analytical, project management, communication and negotiation skills
