Maintenance Leader

About the role

The Maintenance Leader will head maintenance activities at Greif’s San Juan plant, ensuring equipment and critical systems run safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role focuses on preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while supporting Lean/OPEX initiatives and building a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Lead autonomous maintenance and support Lean/OPEX goals to improve plant performance.
• Conduct technical analysis to optimise machine performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage supplier contracts, track execution of maintenance plans and resolve technical issues.
• Review maintenance KPIs monthly and drive action plans.
• Lead, evaluate and develop the maintenance team.
• Manage spare parts inventory and perform lockout/tagout activities.
• Reduce mold and model changeover time using SMED principles.

Required profile

• Advanced or completed university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in a continuous production environment, preferably plastics.
• Experience with quality management systems; ISO 9001:2015 knowledge preferred.
• Intermediate technical English preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with automated systems and maintenance processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with maintenance software such as eMaint.
• AutoCAD and Power Studio knowledge preferred.
