Lead Reinsurance Data Analyst

About the role

The Lead Reinsurance Data Analyst supports and transforms Assurant's reinsurance operations through accounting expertise, data analytics, business intelligence and emerging AI technologies. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of reinsurance settlements, reporting and reconciliations, while driving process improvements, automation and system integration. It is a virtual position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reinsurance settlement activities, reconciliations, reporting and operational oversight, ensuring compliance with contractual and financial requirements.
• Analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, variances, operational issues and improvement opportunities.
• Use business intelligence and AI-enabled tools to streamline reconciliations, reporting, documentation and decision-making.
• Drive automation, system integration and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with Finance, Technology and Operations stakeholders to build dashboards, reporting solutions and business insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, data analytics, business intelligence, automation or digital transformation.
• Experience with large data sets, data modelling, financial systems and process optimisation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest, aptitude or experience with AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies.
• Helpful: insurance or reinsurance experience, hands-on Alteryx workflow design, advanced Power BI or Power Query, and experience leading or supporting system implementations and integrations.
