Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished Lead DevOps Engineer to drive technical leadership and operational excellence across our cloud platforms. The role combines architecture design, automation, and mentorship to ensure highly available, secure, and performant services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available, resilient cloud infrastructure on Azure and/or AWS.
• Partner with development and operations teams to optimise deployment pipelines and improve system performance.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code.
• Promote and enforce CI/CD standards across multiple teams, using tools such as GitLab.
• Manage and resolve incidents in live and test environments, and lead post‑incident reviews.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures.
• Ensure cloud operations comply with security and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor team members on DevOps tools, cloud technologies, and best practices.
• Explore and recommend innovative tools and practices to advance the DevOps environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering.
• At least 1 year in a leadership or team‑coordination role.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting high‑availability cloud solutions in large organisations.
• Strong background with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Solid Python scripting skills and experience with a statically typed language such as C# or Java.

Required skills

• Public cloud platforms: AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Kubernetes administration and development.
• Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab.
• Automation and scripting with Python.
• Experience with Azure Automation Account, Azure Virtual Machines (nice to have).
• English proficiency at B2+ level (written and spoken).
