Lead Data Engineer / Engineering Director

About the role

Svitla Systems Inc. is seeking a Lead Data Engineer / Engineering Director to shape the data platform of a venture‑backed SaaS health‑tech analytics company. You will own end‑to‑end data workflows that enable clinicians, payers and employers to gain actionable insights and drive cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production‑grade data pipelines in cloud environments.
• Debug, monitor, and support data workflows, ensuring high reliability and performance.
• Review and approve architecture, data models, code, and workflow designs.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, balancing hands‑on execution with technical leadership.
• Implement data quality, validation, reconciliation, lineage, and alerting mechanisms.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or related roles.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑moving, lean organizations and make pragmatic technical decisions.
• Strong judgment on when to build, simplify, document, or push back on complexity.
