Junior Back-End Software Engineer

About the role

Bask Health is expanding its software engineering team and is looking for a junior back-end engineer who works directly with the CEO and CTO to build and design the software infrastructure of a telehealth platform. The platform is a multi-tenant monorepo built with Next.js and React on the front, tRPC and Prisma on the back, deployed on SST, with TypeScript throughout. The role suits someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who takes end-to-end ownership and treats AI as a real collaborator.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and ship high-quality product experiences, owning key surfaces from concept through production.
• Write elegant, well-tested code within a real test suite.
• Work across the stack, following a feature from the interface through the API to the database without handoffs.
• Use AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to draft intent, explore implementations, scaffold components and refactor.
• Prototype fast and validate with real patients and care teams, refining before full commitment.
• Build reusable, well-architected patterns and make automation legible and trustworthy.
• Champion performance, accessibility and reliability, partnering across the team to debug and optimize.
• Share AI-native workflows by documenting prompts, patterns and workflows.

Required profile

• 1+ years of experience.
• Full-stack generalist with experience taking a product from 0 to 1.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on and able to own entire projects or large parts of a codebase.
• Strong communicator who can explain technical problems, constraints and timelines.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
• Experience building paid products and services preferred.
