Immigration Legal Assistant (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Immigration Legal Assistant to join our fast‑growing South Florida law firm. You will support our immigration practice by managing case filings, conducting legal research, and assisting with deportation defense and bond motions, while leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google Workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file family‑based petitions, marriage and K‑1 visas, U‑visas, VAWA, green cards, naturalization, asylum, and deportation defense documents.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, including bond motions and defense briefs.
• Utilize AI‑assisted workflows for client intake, document drafting, call summaries, and case management.
• Coordinate with ICE, immigration courts, and deportation officers for detained clients.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.

Required profile

• Experience supporting immigration attorneys or working in an immigration law office.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases remotely.
• Comfortable using AI tools and cloud‑based collaboration platforms.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting legal documents.

Required skills

• ChatGPT (or comparable AI language model) for drafting and research assistance.
• Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail) for document creation and collaboration.
