Head of Legal Americas

About the role

The company is looking for a Head of Legal Americas to lead its regional legal function from Argentina. Reporting directly to International Legal Affairs leadership, the role combines strategic vision with hands‑on execution across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary legal advisor for the Americas, supporting Business Unit Directors, General Managers and regional leadership.
• Provide guidance on complex commercial agreements, strategic projects and day‑to‑day operations across several countries.
• Lead coordination of approximately 18 affiliates and a network of internal and external counsel.
• Oversee significant litigation, regulatory matters and risk‑management activities.
• Drive governance initiatives, including corporate governance, document retention, data privacy and competition law programs.
• Support M&A, joint‑venture transactions and other strategic deals in partnership with global legal teams.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, Tax, HSE and Strategy functions.
• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the regional legal community.

Required profile

• Law degree, preferably with postgraduate studies in Corporate, Business or International Trade Law.
• Extensive senior in‑house legal experience in multinational organizations.
• Proven track record leading regional legal functions across multiple countries.
• Strong background in commercial contracts, corporate law, governance, regulatory matters and risk management.
• Experience in highly matrixed, international environments and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
