Head of Finance and Accounting

About the role

MAVIMAVI is seeking an experienced Head of Finance & Accounting to own the accounting function across a portfolio of high‑growth US client companies, working remotely from Argentina. The role is senior, hands‑on, and responsible for accurate financial statements, close discipline, control environment, and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close for each client, ensuring calendar adherence and high‑quality output.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements under US GAAP and present them to leadership and auditors.
• Own revenue recognition (ASC 606), multi‑entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.
• Establish accounting policies, internal controls, approval workflows and maintain documentation such as close checklists and SOPs.
• Manage external auditors, tax advisers and bookkeeping partners, overseeing audit preparation and resolution of findings.
• Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll accounting and expense processing across the portfolio.
• Mentor client accounting staff, lead ERP selection/implementation (NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct) and drive automation using tools like Ramp, Brex, Bill.com, Rippling, FloQast.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive accounting experience with direct leadership of accounting teams.
• Strong command of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 revenue recognition; knowledge of ASC 842 leases and ASC 718 stock‑based compensation is a plus.
• Proven experience leading audits, multi‑entity consolidation and building accounting processes from scratch.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several client entities concurrently without loss of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal English and ability to work remotely with US‑based stakeholders.
