Global Treasury Analyst

About the role

Canonical is seeking a senior Global Treasury Analyst to optimise cash returns, manage currency exposure and oversee bank credit risk across its worldwide operations. The role will support the CFO by forecasting liquidity needs, modelling cash flow under multiple scenarios and ensuring the company’s cash is invested efficiently while complying with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, forecast and manage global cash positions and liquidity in multiple currencies for numerous entities.
• Model a range of business scenarios to optimise yield and operating efficiency.
• Recommend actions to manage foreign‑currency exposure and mitigate risk.
• Manage bank credit risk, transaction execution and relationships with banking partners.
• Maintain appropriate controls around cash and investment strategy, including SOX, FBAR and FATCA compliance.
• Identify and implement process and system improvements for cash‑flow forecasting.
• Prepare and present treasury reports, documents and strategic proposals to senior management.
• Collaborate with accounting on inter‑company transactions and balances.
• Lead technology implementations, including the deployment of a treasury management system.

Required profile

• Outstanding academic record from high school through university.
• Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics or a quantitative discipline.
• Professional certification such as CTP, CFA or equivalent in treasury or financial analysis.
• Relevant experience in a global treasury function.
• Strong interest in technology and ability to work with motivated colleagues.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Implementation of treasury management systems.
• Knowledge of SOX controls, FBAR and FATCA regulations.
