Freelance English Teacher (Remote, Buenos Aires)

About the role

We are looking for a freelance English teacher to deliver high‑quality, synchronous lessons to primary‑school children (ages 9‑11) in Uruguay. Working remotely from our teaching centre in Buenos Aires, you will join a British Council‑backed programme that provides over 1,000 teaching hours each week.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons that meet British Council and partner standards.
• Coordinate with classroom teachers and manage asynchronous activities.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback on the CREA platform at least 24 hours before each lesson.
• Adapt to curriculum changes and client requirements throughout the academic year.
• Participate in professional development and uphold safeguarding, EDI and health‑and‑safety policies.
• Support local marketing initiatives and contribute to excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Argentina.
• Minimum two years post‑certificate experience (CELTA, Trinity 120 h + practicum, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching English to 9‑11‑year‑old learners.
• Availability to conduct scheduled synchronous classes and provide timely feedback.
• Commitment to child protection, equality, diversity and inclusion standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English language instruction.
• Familiarity with ELT methodologies and British Council standards.
• Experience using online teaching platforms, specifically the CREA platform.
