Financial Controller – Remote (US Time Zones)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Controller to manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of a nonprofit organization. The role is fully remote, serving candidates in the Philippines and Latin America, and requires working on US time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and payroll oversight.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, budget‑to‑actual reports and analyses for leadership and Board review.
• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships and enforce strong internal controls.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors, accountants and regulatory agencies.
• Support financial planning, process improvements and documentation of accounting policies.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting, finance or controllership experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, healthcare or behavioral health environments is highly preferred.
• Ability to work US graveyard shifts and start within two weeks of offer.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with time‑tracking tools such as Time Doctor.
