Exploration BPF Analyst

About the role

Chevron is looking for an Exploration BPF Analyst to support financial planning, forecasting, accounting and business performance analysis for its Exploration assets and countries. The role works closely with Exploration managers, country managers, finance and planning teams, and technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate monthly outlooks, annual business plans and long-range planning for assigned Exploration assets and countries
• Develop forecasts for exploration capital, exploratory expense, G&A, earnings impacts and working capital, and analyze actual versus forecast performance
• Apply U.S. GAAP to evaluate transactions, forecasts and accruals, and partner with Accounting and Finance to ensure compliance with Chevron policies and reporting requirements
• Analyze financial results, spending trends, commitments and cost drivers, and monitor project expenditures, drilling activities and farm-in/farm-out transactions
• Develop management reporting packages, scorecards and executive presentations, and generate recurring and ad hoc reports
• Support capital governance, including AFE-related reviews, spending authorization monitoring and audit coordination
• Provide financial guidance on exploration investments, project economics and funding needs, and support evaluations of exits, acquisitions and divestitures
• Drive standardization, automation and process improvement, and contribute to documentation and transition activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in financial planning, business performance, decision support, accounting or related analytical roles
• Experience in cross-functional and global business environments preferred
