Ecommerce Social Media Strategist Lead

About the role

WAYPOINT is seeking a strategic leader to shape and execute organic social media for its portfolio of ecommerce brands tied to gaming and pop‑culture licences. The Ecommerce Social Media Strategist Lead will define platform strategies, brand voices and growth plans that translate fandom into traffic, engagement and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own brand‑specific social media strategies, content pillars and long‑term growth roadmaps.
• Align social plans with product launches, campaigns, partnerships and licensor brand guidelines.
• Create monthly, quarterly and campaign‑based strategies that drive awareness, engagement, traffic and ecommerce revenue.
• Manage social content calendars, devise social‑first campaign concepts and write creative briefs for designers, photographers and creators.
• Provide strategic creative direction, ensure content is native to each platform and identify emerging formats and trends.
• Oversee community management and brand engagement activities, responding to audiences and fostering loyalty.
• Support email marketing and retention initiatives that complement social efforts.
• Continuously analyse performance data, audience insights and cultural trends to optimise strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and executing social media strategies for ecommerce or consumer brands.
• Deep understanding of gaming culture, online communities and how fandom drives purchase behaviour.
• Ability to translate cultural insights into actionable growth opportunities.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with creative, ecommerce, marketing and licensing teams.
• Data‑driven mindset with experience measuring and iterating on social performance.
