Customer Support & Field Engineer

About the role

The Customer Support & Field Engineer joins Motorola Solutions' post‑sales Services team to design, deploy and support mission‑critical voice and data communication systems for government and commercial customers. The role works on multi‑disciplinary project teams, handling implementation, testing and hand‑over of complex solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects of implementation, including deployment, configuration, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of network equipment.
• Manage skill transfer from design to implementation teams and act as escalation point for field engineers.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, maintain technical records, and ensure project delivery meets quality standards.
• Provide preventative and corrective maintenance, trend analysis and documentation.
• Support customers under service contracts and may assist pre‑sales activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronics Engineering (candidates within one year of graduation considered).
• Minimum 3 years experience in telecommunications; IT experience is a plus.
• Intermediate English communication skills, proactive customer‑service attitude, and willingness to travel (>50% domestic/international).
• Valid driver’s license; US visa considered a plus.

Required skills

• ITIL certification.
• Knowledge of networking concepts.
• Server management experience (ESXi, vSphere).
• Working knowledge of Motorola Solutions portfolio (PCR, DIMETRA Express).
