Cloud Engineer

About the role

Avature is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, configure and maintain cloud environments using Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, AWS, Puppet and related technologies. The role bridges infrastructure and development teams, enabling collaboration and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide frameworks and templates for development teams to deploy and run services, coding configuration management and infrastructure recipes.
• Evolve and maintain environments managed by the Cloud Services organization.
• Define standards with a DevOps/SRE mindset and promote them across teams.
• Design and automate complex operations to scale in distributed datacenters worldwide.
• Enable developers to own their code and ensure its operability.
• Assist operations teams by automating manual tasks and maintaining platform at the OS level.
• Perform code reviews, technical analysis, and refactor infrastructure code to improve quality.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with cloud administration and containerization (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Puppet, Bash scripting, and observability.
• Advanced Linux administration skills.
• Willingness to learn infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, LXD, KVM).
• Software development experience (e.g., Python) is a plus.
