Job description
About the role
EY is looking for an architecture professional to lead hands-on architecture for EY Fabric, its global technology platform for building, running and scaling technology solutions. The role sits in the Client Technology Architecture function and works across business, product, security, platform and engineering teams, shaping product vision, roadmaps and detailed designs while staying close to implementation through prototyping, code and design reviews.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to turn business needs into pragmatic product and platform architecture.
- Own or guide the technology and design direction of assigned platform capabilities from concept through delivery, adoption, operation and evolution.
- Ensure designs work coherently across APIs, developer workflows, portals, cloud capabilities, identity and access, data services, observability and integrations.
- Produce architecture blueprints, designs, architectural decision records, reference patterns and implementation guidance.
- Design secure, scalable, reusable services, APIs, integration patterns, datastores and common platform components.
- Work directly with engineering teams on prototyping, proof-of-concept development, code review, pair design and troubleshooting.
- Solve complex problems by evaluating technologies, testing assumptions and weighing build-versus-buy options.
- Take part in planning, estimation and forecasting, manage architecture work and technical debt, and mentor engineers and architects.
Required profile
- Significant experience in solution or technical architecture in complex, large-scale product or internal developer platform environments.
- Demonstrable hands-on software engineering in at least one modern language such as C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
- Broad architecture experience across cloud-native applications, integration, data and security.
- Experience designing distributed, scalable products using APIs, microservices, containers and Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and DevSecOps, and knowledge of API design and management.
- Strong analytical, collaboration and communication skills, able to explain complex decisions to senior stakeholders and work across globally distributed teams.
Required skills
- Microsoft Azure or other cloud experience (compute, storage, networking, security, identity, Entra ID, RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Policy).
- Secure-by-design practices, compliance and enterprise technology standards.
- Architecture patterns such as microservices, event-driven architecture and data streaming.
Desirable: InnerSource, low-code/no-code, AI-assisted engineering, and certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer, TOGAF or SAFe.
