Chief of Staff to the COO

About the role

Change.org is seeking a Chief of Staff to the COO to act as a senior strategic operator, translating high‑level strategy into concrete actions and ensuring operational clarity across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted extension of the COO, anticipating information needs, pressure‑testing decisions, and preparing high‑quality briefings.
• Own the operating rhythm, establishing weekly, quarterly and annual cadences that keep the Ops leadership team prioritized and prepared.
• Represent the COO in cross‑functional settings, facilitating executive meetings, off‑sites and maintaining momentum when the COO is unavailable.
• Drive operational excellence by auditing and improving key processes across finance, people, legal and other Ops functions.

Required profile

• Strategic judgment: ability to connect short‑term execution with long‑term company goals.
• Operational leadership & execution: experience designing and running systems in mature Ops environments (finance, people, legal, etc.).
• Executive communication & influence: excellent written and verbal skills, capable of distilling complexity into clear briefings that enable decisions.
