Certified Public Accountant – Bookkeeping & Accounting Support

About the role

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper with a teaching background to serve as the primary accounting contact for our small‑ and medium‑size business clients. Working fully remotely, you will manage end‑to‑end bookkeeping tasks while presenting financial results clearly on video calls.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the client‑facing point of contact, presenting financial statements and answering questions via calls or video meetings.
• Perform daily bookkeeping operations for a portfolio of SMB clients, including bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, handle invoicing, bill payment, and collections follow‑up.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee month‑end close, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Maintain audit‑ready records in QuickBooks Online and other accounting platforms.
• Identify and flag discrepancies, unusual transactions, or process gaps for management.

Required profile

• Advanced bookkeeping experience with the ability to own a client’s books end‑to‑end.
• Teaching or client‑facing experience explaining finance concepts clearly.
• Educational background in education/teaching combined with accounting coursework.
• Strong verbal and presentation skills; comfortable on camera during client interactions.
• Fluent English communication with U.S.‑based teams and clients.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online proficiency.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP for small‑business financial reporting.
