Butler – Luxury Guest Experience (Shipboard)

About the role

The Butler is responsible for delivering an exceptional, personalized in‑suite experience for guests aboard the ship. Acting as the primary liaison between guests and all hotel and marine departments, the Butler anticipates needs, ensures flawless service, and maintains the suite’s appearance and amenities to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and orient Retreat guests, providing detailed information on suites, ship amenities, ports of call and exclusive privileges.
• Serve as the guest’s personal point of contact, coordinating inter‑departmental communication to guarantee seamless service delivery.
• Conduct taste‑testing and quality checks of all food, beverage and service items before guest consumption.
• Uphold and continuously improve service standards for the Retreat program.
• Collaborate with other Retreat areas to share guest preferences and enhance the overall experience across all venues.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of guest‑facing service experience in a luxury environment.
• Fluent, clear and courteous spoken English; ability to read and write English for procedures and communication.
• Professional, well‑groomed appearance with a warm, welcoming demeanor.
• Strong emotional intelligence, resourceful thinking and basic conflict‑resolution skills.
• Working knowledge of food and beverage service.
