Business Systems Analyst – Life Sciences & Laboratory Systems

About the role

The Business Systems Analyst supports the enhancement of business‑critical, vendor‑provided (COTS) systems for life‑sciences and laboratory environments. Working under general supervision, the analyst translates new software functionality into business value while ensuring compliance with regulated standards such as FDA.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze vendor documentation to identify new features, changes, and potential impacts on existing processes.
• Compare current requirements with vendor updates, highlighting gaps, risks, and needed modifications.
• Develop or modify moderately complex system requirements and translate technical changes into clear business insights.
• Engage with software vendors to clarify requirements, align solutions, and resolve issues.
• Partner with lab and business users to validate system changes and conduct requirements workshops.
• Support UAT, risk‑based testing, defect tracking, and triage activities.
• Maintain requirements in Azure DevOps and ensure documentation meets regulated‑environment standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in systems analysis, preferably in life‑sciences, laboratory or other regulated industries.
• Proven ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems or documentation and extract key insights.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Experience with COTS applications and vendor delivery models.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps (or similar requirements‑management tools).
• Comfort using AI tools such as Copilot to enhance productivity and documentation.
