Big Data Developer (Java) – Relocation to Spain

About the role

You will join a senior technical team building large‑scale, data‑intensive platforms for a regulated financial environment. The focus is on backend development using Java, OOP principles, and extensive interaction with Data Lake ecosystems and complex SQL processing within a modern micro‑services and DevOps architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend components using Java and OOP principles.
• Build and optimise SQL queries over large datasets in Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Work with Data Lake environments and data‑integration flows.
• Contribute to micro‑services architectures based on Spring Boot.
• Collaborate in CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitHub Actions and Kubernetes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical decision‑making.
• Interact with functional teams on Transactional Regulatory Reporting.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in Object‑Oriented Programming with Java (expert level).
• Advanced JavaScript skills.
• Strong SQL expertise with Oracle PL/SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Solid experience with Git and GitHub.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes.
• Proven background in enterprise‑scale backend systems.
• Nice to have: Angular, TypeScript, Amazon S3, Elastic, OpenShift, Kafka, and exposure to Transactional Regulatory Reporting.
