Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support one of our external clients. The role involves forensic accounting, reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform forensic accounting on client billing accounts and profit & loss statements to verify proper categorization.
• Correct miskeyed or miscoded items in accounts payable and receivable.
• Arrange billing for under‑billed, mis‑billed, or unbilled expenditures and budget items.
• Execute intercompany, payroll, balance‑sheet, and month‑end reconciliations.
• Review accruals, prepayments, and revenue reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of state and federal tax reports.
• Support the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience supporting a US‑based company.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
• Proactive, independent, and detail‑oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Google Sheets for handling high‑volume transactions.
• Familiarity with SAGE accounting software (a plus).
