Accountant – Buenos Aires, Argentina

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Buenos Aires office. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and alignment with both local and group accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing in accordance with local GAAP (NCIF) and NIIF.
• Maintain statutory accounting books, electronic ledgers, and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts receivable, payable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements, including detailed notes, and submit consolidated monthly reports to HQ using Oracle GFS/FCCS within the Day +5 deadline.
• Apply exchange‑rate rules for financial reporting and customs compliance.
• Manage full tax compliance: income tax, IVA, withholding, payroll, and related filings.
• Calculate tax provisions, deferred tax, and coordinate with tax advisors and regional HQ tax teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Argentine local GAAP (NCIF), NIIF, and tax regulations.
• Experience as a legal accounting representative handling statutory compliance.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and meet tight reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Local GAAP (NCIF) and NIIF expertise.
• Oracle GFS and FCCS reporting tools.
• Electronic invoicing (Factura Electrónica) and customs documentation.
• Tax compliance and payroll processing.
• Advanced Excel for financial analysis and reconciliation.
