Labor Relations Counselor – Latin America

About the role

Chevron is seeking a Labor Relations Counselor to provide strategic guidance and hands‑on support for its operating units across Latin America, with a primary focus on Argentina. The role involves managing complex labor relations issues, contract negotiations, and employee relations initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational assistance on global labor relations matters, including contract negotiations and organizing campaigns.
• Advocate in labor arbitrations and before government agencies, handling legal research and acting as company lead advocate.
• Deliver labor relations consultation and counsel to operating units, supporting the global labor relations philosophy.
• Develop and facilitate labor relations training and mentorship programs.
• Participate as a guidance reviewer or project team member on compensation, disability management, and other HR projects.
• Engage in external labor relations forums, monitor trends, and share best practices across the organization.
• Travel domestically up to 40% as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Labor Relations or Labor Law.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• University degree; preferably in Law or Labor Relations.
• Experience in labor relations negotiations, preferably at a leadership level, with global exposure.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships at all organizational levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience handling sensitive disputes.
• Project‑management expertise and ability to conduct complex legal research and data analysis.
• First‑chair experience in collective bargaining and organizing campaigns.
