Family Physician – Shared Practice in Nelson, BC

About the role

We are seeking a Family Physician to join a collaborative shared‑practice clinic in Nelson, British Columbia. The position offers a blended rural family medicine scope with longitudinal primary‑care, shared inpatient duties and a rotating Doctor‑of‑the‑Day hospital schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care to a shared patient panel alongside one other physician.
• Participate in shared inpatient coverage at Kootenay Lake Hospital on a 12‑week rotation.
• Take part in the Doctor‑of‑the‑Day on‑call schedule, providing acute care as needed.
• Maintain a clinic schedule of 2–3 days per week, with flexibility for virtual‑care days.
• Collaborate with the team for cross‑coverage, vacation planning and leave support.
• Optional involvement in a functional‑medicine clinic up to twice weekly.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible Family Physician willing to work in a shared‑practice model.
• Interest in flexible scheduling, part‑time or full‑time arrangements (approximately 0.5–0.8 FTE).
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to share patient panels and on‑call duties.
• Desire to engage with the Nelson community and its rural‑mountain setting.
