Senior Accountant – Remote (Latin America/Philippines)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑obsessed Senior Accountant to join a fully remote outsourced accounting firm serving small and mid‑size businesses in the United States. The role is 100% remote, reporting to a US‑based manager on Central Time, and is open to candidates located in Latin America or the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full monthly close for roughly seven client accounts, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Perform month‑over‑month and year‑over‑year variance analysis.
• Review and correct bookkeeper‑prepared work, ensuring accurate coding.
• Manage accounts payable workflows in Bill.com or Ramp, reviewing and coding invoices.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on overdue items, and escalate as needed.
• Run and post payroll, allocating wages, taxes, and benefits to the general ledger.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for routine client communications.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native English proficiency.
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience with full‑cycle month‑end close ownership.
• Deep knowledge of accrual‑based accounting and US GAAP.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and variance analysis.
